About 10 minutes away from us, near the town of Erbendorf, is the town of Wildenreuth, for the past 5 years, the palace in Wildenreuth has held a Christmas market on it's grounds. This year is it's 6th year hosting a Christmas Market! It is only open during the 2nd and 3rd Advent weekend. That means it's only open one more weekend this year!
The beauty of this Christmas Market is that it is a hidden secret. Although not so hidden any more. A lot of people have compared it to Guteneck's Christmas Market. Here, there are rustic wooden cabins and stables which hold 60 exhibitors and artisans.
There are torchlight processions through the castle grounds, a visit from the Christmas Angels and Santa, but best of all, there are lots of things to do for kids, so adults can enjoy it too! There is a petting zoo, as well as camel and pony rides and archery games.
Since we don't have kids, the best part of this Christmas market for Drew was the Glühbier, it was made with Belgian Beer, and you know the Belgians don't mess around when it comes to their beer! Just watch it, a glass of Glühbeir will run you about 9 euros. But that's because there is a 5 Euro Pfand (deposit) on the glass.
It's a cute little market, that won't take you long to explore. You could do it in a couple hours including walking around the palace grounds and taking selfies, and still have lots of time to check out Gutneck as well!
